GREETINGS, District V’s Blois L. Prosser
sent this in!
The Ogeechee Aeromasters Memorial
Day Fly-In was a huge success. We had 36
pilots and the weather was great for the
whole weekend. Kris Dixon, District V
associate vice president (AVP), was here for
Friday night and all day Saturday, and it was
nice meeting him and talking with him.
We also had night flying on Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday and it was awesome.
Mike Wasden was here with his 12-foot
Telemaster and he put on a show for the
whole crowd. No one “fed the tree” on
Saturday, but by Sunday afternoon someone
gave it an Escapade. It is now munching on
the wing.
The crowd was big and the food was
great. I hope everyone who came had a good
time and will be back for the next one. It
will be in September on Labor Day
weekend, September 3, 2011, so put it on
your calendar and let’s do this again.
The Ogeechee Aeromasters’ first fly-in
was a huge success and they did a great job
with the show for the whole day. The club is
up to 17 members and still growing. If you
would like to find out more about joining
please contact Blois.
AVP Hank Cooper sent this in. Thanks,
Hank!
The Mid Mississippi Radio Control Club
(MMRCC) held its annual Spring Fly-In on
Saturday, June 4, at the home field located
near Byram, Mississippi. MMRCC members
are known for being superb event hosts and
this year’s edition of their Spring Fly-In was
no exception.
Truman McManus and crew had the
grounds in perfect condition and the
delicious noontime meal prepared by Ricky
Lamonte featured barbecued brisket, baked
beans, and potato salad.
Light winds and clear skies made for
perfect flying conditions for the 64 pilots in
attendance and the wide assortment of Scale,
sport, and aerobatic aircraft on hand.
Jeff Williams
traveled from
Hattiesburg MS
with his 1/3-scale
Christen Eagle.
Jeff is a member
of the Pine Belt
RC club and is
one of 12 pilots
from PBRC who
attended.
Kelvin Williamson, Metarie LA, displays his
new 3D HobbyShop Extra 300 SHP. It has a
JR-11X radio and BME 58cc for power.
Wesley Haney
from Aberdeen
MS was chosen
by the attending
pilots to receive
the Most
Awesome Flight
award for his
spectacular 3-D
aerobatic
routine.
Phillip Koury’s (Picayune MS) immaculately
detailed T-28 Trojan won both the Best
Scale and Best of Show awards.

Brookhaven MS.
Don’t miss the next MMRCC event
which is the Fall Fly-In scheduled for
October 1. Special thanks to Jennifer
McManus who graciously provided the
photos for this report.
Gentlemen and ladies, I would like your
feedback. Would you like to have another
District V Jamboree? Based on your
opinions, I will start making preparations to
locate the best venue—one that provides the
shortest drive for the entire district.
We will locate the event as centrally as
we can and we should have a great time
doing so. Let me know if you would like
this.
