RCHTA Continues to Fund Programs
The Radio Control Hobby Trade
Association (RCHTA) has budgeted
$100,000 to fund the Media Award
program and the RC Public Demo Award
Program.
The Media Award program has been
awarding money to clubs and retailers
for four years. Last January, the Radio
Control Hobby Trade Association Board
voted to add the RC Public Demo
Award Program to its consumer
promotion plan.
RCHTA awarded nearly $93,000 to
634 clubs and retailers that drew the
“outside world’s” attention to the RC
hobby. The RC Public Demo program
stipulated that awards be granted only to
organizers who went outside the
traditional modeler circles to educate the
uninformed about the fun and fulfillment
of RC hobbies.
A total of 400 clubs and retailers
submitted entries for the first time, 140
submitted for the second year, 70
submitted for the third year, and 24
submitted all four years.
RCHTA was formed in 1984 as a notfor-
profit trade association of
professionals who are actively engaged in
manufacturing, importing, packaging, or
publishing RC material.
