"Letters" correction Hello Jay [Smith],
I was shocked to read in the current issue of Model Aviation [letter to the editor] of the death of Owen Morris, who worked with Tom McPherson at NASA during the development of the full-scale Shuttle Carrier Aircraft—at least, insofar as Mr. McPherson was aware. As the Membership Chairman for the Johnson Space Center Radio Control Club, I had remembered Owen signing up for membership for 2013, as he has for the past 40 years. His membership application was dated December 27, 2012.
Just to be on the safe side, he was contacted via email last week, and sure enough, he is still with us, as I had strongly supposed.
I wanted the AMA membership to know Owen Morris is still very much alive, and comes to our club meetings occasionally, even at the young age of 90. Thanks.

RC boat racing Mike [Zaborowski],
What a delightful surprise to find your article on RC boat racing in the new issue of Model Aviation! Although a longtime model airplane builder and flyer, I've often wondered about what RC boating is like. Your well-written and excellently photographed article gave me the introduction I've been needing.
I appreciate you contributing this fine article to the AMA magazine and [I] appreciate [MA] publishing it. RC boat racing looks very interesting and I think it's of interest to many other airplane modelers, too. Hope you will contribute more articles like this in the future. I used to love RC Modeler magazine and it's great to see Model Aviation becoming more like that other fabulous magazine.

I've enclosed an article written by Purdue University. My son Eric has been a model enthusiast since age 5. He is currently a junior at Purdue majoring in aerospace engineering. He and his fellow students just won a grant for the funding of research for a scale-size small unmanned aircraft.
