After reading your review of the Airborne Models Tucano (on page 62 of the October 2010 Model Aviation), I was interested in the motor mount you used from Warbird Performance. But the link you gave for them (www.warbirdperformance.com) is a dead end.
I haven't been able to locate that company. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Glad you enjoyed the review. It's a great airframe.
I did some checking on the mount and found the same as you. This review was done quite a few months ago, and in that time the company has apparently closed up shop.

Also at Lufbery Aerodrome
I was delighted to see the Lufbery Aerodrome article in the September 2010 issue of Model Aviation. The renaming of our field was a milestone in the 30+ years of its existence, and a great step toward preserving it for future generations of RC flyers.
I would like to add two more points to the MA story:
The Lufbery Committee actually had four members, not three as indicated in the article. The fourth member was Mr. Harvey Schwartz, who played a very important role in dealing with local politicians, Nassau County Park officials, Nassau County legislators, journalists, and rallying support from local residents and homeowners associations.
Mr. Schwartz withdrew from active participation in the committee in March of 2010 for personal reasons. At that time, however, most of the committee work was already done, and the goals had already been achieved. During the renaming ceremony on June 5, Harvey awarded Certificates of Support to honored guests who helped us see that glorious day (see photo).
Also, although the "Lufbery project" was a Meroke initiative, we had the unwavering support of the other four major RC clubs who fly at Lufbery Aerodrome. On the renaming day, the HAMS, Nassau Flyers, RC Cobras and Whitman Flyers joined the Merokes in an all-club fly-in, during which the club presidents cooked and served food to our members and guests.
Overall, June 5 was one of the best days in memory for RC flying on Long Island!

Bugatti 100P Replica
My good friend—and AMA member—Kevin Ganz of Erie, Pennsylvania alerted me to the beautiful scale Bugatti 100P model on page 48 of the October 2010 edition of Model Aviation.
A note about the engines: the engines installed in the plane were not V-8s, but Bugatti T50B inline eight-cylinder engines. These engines were mechanically supercharged and produced in excess of 450 HP each!
My team is building a full-scale, flying replica of this extraordinary aircraft, something that has never been accomplished. I invite your readers to visit www.bugatti100preplica.com if they would like to follow our progress.
The replica—like the original—is built largely of balsa and construction is much like building a large model airplane.
