Embracing new technology
I have kept up with the letters to you concerning multirotor aircraft and the ancillary FPV portion of that technology with great interest. Many modelers don’t like it because it is quite different from traditional modeling. However, a modeling revolution is in the works and we need to recognize it.
Multirotors are the wave of the future for modeling in general and the modeling community in particular. Many people I know are now flying these aircraft in parks, backyards, and any open area, some without benefit of AMA insurance, etc. To me, this is similar to the electrical/LiPo revolution that has almost displaced glow fuel and gas engines (at least at our club).
Let’s not get our knickers in a wad and refuse to embrace this new technology. If we do, we may lose a lot of AMA members. As an 80-year-old modeler, I enjoy flying my quads. Nothing daring or fancy, just a desire to control a model remotely like all our fellow modelers. Let’s not take a negative position that we may regret.

More FPV please
I have been an AMA member and flying model aircraft for over 14 years now. Two years ago, I discovered FPV and was immediately hooked. Please include more info/instruction content in MA. This is an incredible aspect of our hobby with great potential that needs to be better understood.
Thanks for a great publication!
