AMA News District III - 2009/02
Election
The election for District III is over. Thank you for your support and your vote of confidence in my reelection. I also thank all those involved for their positive campaigning. My years of experience have helped create a very positive relationship with most members in the Academy.
Thank-you to Ken Karpinski
A special thank-you is in order for Ken Karpinski, our Southeast Pennsylvania Associate Vice President. Unfortunately, Ken is moving out of the district to Virginia. His efforts will not be forgotten. If you are interested in becoming Ken’s replacement, please contact me at the published address.
Webmaster replacement
Kevin Sheen, our webmaster, would also appreciate a replacement. If you have the expertise and credentials, please make yourself known.
Apology to Bob Aberle
An apology is in order to Bob Aberle. Last month I neglected to mention his fine effort in RC Micro World pertaining to the Keystone Indoor Electric Fly. View the article at: www.cloud9rc.com/va.asp?ID=245
Beaver County Model Airplane Club
Bill Mohrbacher provided the following information about the Beaver County Model Airplane Club, Inc.:
- The club was originally formed by the Highland Optimists in 1964.
- In 1965 it moved to Zima Field on Route 168, just west of New Galilee, Pennsylvania.
- The field is named in honor of Bill Zima, the now-deceased owner. Bill loved our hobby and his family has hosted the club all these years; their support is greatly appreciated.
- The Beaver County club is AMA Charter #571 and was incorporated in 1969.
- The club’s membership of roughly 60 enjoys RC, sport models, gliders, and some scale—both glow and electric.
- Bill provided pictures to illustrate the club’s activities.
