AMA News: District III-2011/12

Author: Bob Brown

Edition: Model Aviation - 2011/12
Page Numbers: 147

ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2011, we lost our
friend, Lee L. Eisele.
At the age of 76, Lee was a lifelong
farmer and avid modeler. Lee built and
provided one of the most scenic RC fields in
northeast Pennsylvania. This ground was
prime farmland and could have been used
for many things, but Lee maintained this
ground for the Sky High Flyers and the
Muncy Indoor Flyers.
Lee and his wife, Kitty, hosted many
great fun-fly events at this field and many
hours were spent sitting and chatting. Lee
and Kitty enjoyed the visits from District III
Vice President Bob Brown and his wife,
JoAnne.
Lee lived and farmed for many years in
Bucks County, Pennsylvania, before moving
to Muncy, Pennsylvania.
Both Kitty and JoAnne lived in Bucks
County and became good friends. This made
Lee happy.
You can see this scenic field by visiting

modeling friends.

On August 14, 2011, the St. Clairsville
Radio Control Flyers held the second annual
Junior Aviator Day for area youth. The
weather called for rain showers, but the
event went off without a hitch.
The club members flew many
demonstration flights and displayed all types
of planes, from trainers to Giant Scale to 3-
D models. Bill Kutchell gave a Pattern
demonstration that entertained the crowd.
The flying lawn mower was a big hit.
The young aviators learned how
airplanes fly, were given balsa gliders, and
tried a flight simulator. The youth made and
launched pop-bottle rockets. Many Junior
Aviators experienced their first flights with
instructor Chuck Guthoerl.
The club wants to thank Capstone
Holdings for the use of the field.
