South Florida club visits
I just returned from a trip to South Florida where I met with several clubs in the area.
The AMPS Club of Miami was hosting its annual International Miniature Aerobatic Club (IMAC) contest. While the North was in the grips of Old Man Winter, it was 85 degrees and beautiful in Miami! Tony Fandino and the entire club put on a great event, as is evident by all the smiles. The pictures tell it all.
I also visited the Palm Beach R/C Club (it used to be Gold Coast R/C). They had many members out flying and enjoying the day as well. The club officers were enthusiastic about the new field that the county is going to provide. Club members will have to put in nearly all of the improvements, but they will get a really nice site when all is said and done. Sites are very difficult to find in South Florida, so it is good to see this happen.
