Kansas City, Missouri
The 49th Mid America Jumbo Squadron, club #1928, held its annual Jumbo Jamboree. The morning started with a little rain and a flock of geese on the runway, but the weather cleared and the geese flew away.

Highland, Illinois
Talk about a contest! How about eight months long. Last year’s Jacob Lee Catapult Glider contest ran from March to October, on the first Tuesday of each month.
The contest was open to members of the Thermaleers, NX-211, and the Breese RC clubs of Missouri and Illinois. Each month averaged 11 attendees. Over the duration of the contest, 86 contestants logged a total of 774 flights. Each contest day was limited to nine flights.
Pilots were awarded points according to their placing each day; those points were then added to the previous month’s totals. The highest cumulative scores were declared the winners.
