Freeport, Illinois — Club #253 (Freeport RC Modelers Club)
Club #253, the Freeport RC Modelers Club, is always looking to expand membership by participating in local events.
An example of this was a static display with handouts at the Stephenson County Information Center in conjunction with flight demonstrations at the club field. The club also provided a float for the Freeport Memorial Parade. By becoming visible in the community, the members hope to attract new modelers to join the club.

Marion, Illinois — Club #859 (Sky Squires RC Club)
Club #859, the Sky Squires RC Club, puts on a different kind of static display. Club members broiled in the hot sun to provide the public with an outdoor static display at the Kroger store in Marion, Illinois. The Williamson County Tourism Bureau invited the club and other groups to this event.
The Sky Squires fly indoor models of all types in a large building managed by the Tourism Bureau. Everyone felt that the display at the Kroger store was a public-relations success, and the members hope it will become an annual event.
