Michigan State Science Olympiad

It is always a pleasure to receive this type of information and present it to our District VII readers. Michigan State University held the Michigan State Science Olympiad Wright Stuff senior-division competition earlier this year. Forty-two teams entered the category. Of those teams, students Colin Veele and Alex Cotton of Grand Haven, Michigan, took the top honors. This is a small glimpse of the future of modelers in our hobby and sport — congratulations, fellows!

The Cloudbusters Model Airplane Club of Michigan assisted with recording and judging duties. The picture and information were submitted by Dan Olah.

M.A.R.K.S. 50th Anniversary

Last November's column mentioned that the Milwaukee Area Radio Kontrol Society (M.A.R.K.S.) was celebrating its 50th anniversary. At the time there was a problem with the photos that were to be used, and only the picture of Dario Brisighella, one of the club founders, ran with the story. Since then, some corrections have been made, and I am including these shots of the M.A.R.K.S. members at their celebration fly-in.

Spring Projects and Events

By now everyone should have his or her new projects nearly ready for spring. If not, you had better get going! And don't forget: the Toledo Expo 2008 is just around the corner.

Until next time, get a youngster involved. You would be surprised how much fun it is to watch a youngster learn about our hobby. Remember when you started? Fly safely and have fun. C.A.V.U.
