Spring update

Spring is getting closer by the day. The Toledo Weak Signals Expo is just weeks away.

Hopefully the new projects you started are nearly finished and any models that needed repair are also taken care of. There is nothing left to do but make the final checks on the equipment.

Preseason checks

  • RC flyers: Transmitter and receiver batteries are charged; engines have been cleaned, test-run, and are ready to go.
  • Control-line flyers: Check the engines, control handles, pull-test the lines, and inspect for any kinks or connections that need repair.

It's time for all of us in the modeling hobby to "Git 'R Done."

KRAMS report

The Kent Radio Aeromodellers Inc. (KRAMS) had a very interesting year, according to the report submitted by Danny Osborn. KRAMS applied for club financial assistance and for the Take Off And Grow (TAG) program, never guessing they would be awarded both.

Once the club received the assistance, they got the ball rolling. The first task was to erect a 20 x 24 shelter to provide a place to set up equipment for the TAG program. Members rolled up their sleeves to start and complete the project.

The TAG program got under way with 18 participants showing up the first day to fly three trainers using the buddy boxes and to try their hands at simulator flying. Let's let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Our thanks to Danny Osborn for sending in the report.

Closing

Till next time — see you at the field. Fly safely, have fun, and take a youngster with you when you go out to the field.
