NORMAL LISTING
When an AMA sanction is issued for an
event, the event will be listed automatically in
the Contest Calendar section if received in
time. Sanction forms and sanction listing
forms should be mailed to your Contest
Coordinator (except demos). The listing will
give the date, place, and name of the event—
plus competition events, flying site, and
Contest Director name and address. Use of
Supplementary (paid) Ad space is suggested
for the description of unusual or special
events, deviations from AMA rules, or
significant aspects of a meet. Paid ads may
also be helpful in promoting fun-fly-type meets
or to give directions to the flying site. There is
a $10.00 fee for Non-Flying Event Listings.
Applications are available from AMA
Headquarters, Competitions Department. Mail
this application and the $10.00 fee directly to
AMA Headquarters. For more details, check
our Web site: www.modelaircraft.org.
SUPPLEMENTARY ADS
Display ads can be inserted in the Contest
Calendar section by paying a fee. These ads
are accepted for AMA-sanctioned events or
AMA club-sponsored non-fly events only.
These sizes listed under ``SIZE’’ are the only
sizes that will be accepted to be published in
the Contest Calendar.
FEE: Fees are based on ad size and whether
or not the sponsor is an AMA-chartered club.
AD POLICY
SIZE: 15/8-in wide and either 3/4-, 11/2-, or 21/4-
in high. Only these sizes will be accepted.
PRICING: 3/4—$8; 11/2—$16; 21/4—$24 for
each time the ad is run (payable in advance).
AMA-chartered clubs pay only half that rate.
AD PREPARATION:
* Ads must be dark black on a white
background. Please send originals—even
good-quality photocopies do not reproduce
well. Good-quality paper is recommended.
* No ad can be larger than 15/8-in. wide by 2
1/4-in. high.
* Photographs cannot be used in
Supplementary Ads.
* Every effort will be made to place the
Supplementary Ad next to the text listing,
however, it is not guaranteed.
(We reserve the right to charge extra for ads
not of reproducible quality and/or ads that do
not meet our size requirements.)
SUBMITTAL DEADLINE: Every effort will be
made to include Supplementary Ads received
by the 14th of the month in the issue reaching
readers approximately the fourth week of the
following month. However, this cannot be
guaranteed, as ads are published on a
space-available basis only! There is normally
a two-month lead time required for inserting a
Supplementary Ad. The same deadline will
apply to sanctioned events listings.

Flying Site Success Story?
If so, Model Aviation wants to hear about it!
Finding and keeping flying sites is a paramount issue facing
the Academy and its members today. Just as there are stories of
clubs losing flying sites or being unable to find flying fields,
success stories abound as well. It is vital that these success
stories be shared, so that others may learn and apply sound
methods for finding and keeping flying sites.
Your club can assist others in similar situations by
submitting an article to Model Aviation that meets the
guidelines listed below:
• Text should not exceed 1,500 words.
• Electronic text should be submitted as an ASCII file in
WordPerfect 6.1 or Microsoft Word 2000. (A hard copy of the
text should always accompany a disk.)
• Photos should number no more than a dozen. The photos
should complement and illustrate the text. Please include
captions on a separate page (writing on the back of the photo
may cause bleeding and “see-through” problems). Digital
photos will be accepted if taken with at least a 2.0-megapixel
camera and sent on a disk or CD; E-mailed photos will not be
accepted.
• Be specific. Explain the steps your club took to acquire a
flying site, or to prevent the loss of an existing field. Note
which government agencies were contacted and the process
involved.

NORMAL LISTING
When an AMA sanction is issued for an
event, the event will be listed automatically in
the Contest Calendar section if received in
time. Sanction forms and sanction listing
forms should be mailed to your Contest
Coordinator (except demos). The listing will
give the date, place, and name of the event—
plus competition events, flying site, and
Contest Director name and address. Use of
Supplementary (paid) Ad space is suggested
for the description of unusual or special
events, deviations from AMA rules, or
significant aspects of a meet. Paid ads may
also be helpful in promoting fun-fly-type meets
or to give directions to the flying site. There is
a $10.00 fee for Non-Flying Event Listings.
Applications are available from AMA
Headquarters, Competitions Department. Mail
this application and the $10.00 fee directly to
AMA Headquarters. For more details, check

SUPPLEMENTARY ADS
Display ads can be inserted in the Contest
Calendar section by paying a fee. These ads
are accepted for AMA-sanctioned events or
AMA club-sponsored non-fly events only.
These sizes listed under ``SIZE’’ are the only
sizes that will be accepted to be published in
the Contest Calendar.
FEE: Fees are based on ad size and whether
or not the sponsor is an AMA-chartered club.
AD POLICY
SIZE: 15/8-in wide and either 3/4-, 11/2-, or 21/4-
in high. Only these sizes will be accepted.
PRICING: 3/4—$8; 11/2—$16; 21/4—$24 for
each time the ad is run (payable in advance).
AMA-chartered clubs pay only half that rate.
AD PREPARATION:
* Ads must be dark black on a white
background. Please send originals—even
good-quality photocopies do not reproduce
well. Good-quality paper is recommended.
* No ad can be larger than 15/8-in. wide by 2
1/4-in. high.
* Photographs cannot be used in
Supplementary Ads.
* Every effort will be made to place the
Supplementary Ad next to the text listing,
however, it is not guaranteed.

SUBMITTAL DEADLINE: Every effort will be

Flying Site Success Story?
If so, Model Aviation wants to hear about it!
Finding and keeping flying sites is a paramount issue facing
the Academy and its members today. Just as there are stories of
clubs losing flying sites or being unable to find flying fields,
success stories abound as well. It is vital that these success
stories be shared, so that others may learn and apply sound
methods for finding and keeping flying sites.
Your club can assist others in similar situations by
submitting an article to Model Aviation that meets the
guidelines listed below:
• Text should not exceed 1,500 words.
• Electronic text should be submitted as an ASCII file in
WordPerfect 6.1 or Microsoft Word 2000. (A hard copy of the
text should always accompany a disk.)
• Photos should number no more than a dozen. The photos
should complement and illustrate the text. Please include
captions on a separate page (writing on the back of the photo
may cause bleeding and “see-through” problems). Digital
photos will be accepted if taken with at least a 2.0-megapixel
camera and sent on a disk or CD; E-mailed photos will not be
accepted.
• Be specific. Explain the steps your club took to acquire a
flying site, or to prevent the loss of an existing field. Note
which government agencies were contacted and the process
involved.
