2007 District-Sponsored Events
Continuing our strategy to promote aeromodeling, provide additional value to clubs, and bring members together at district-sponsored events, we have budgeted additional district funds to sponsor two one-day specialty events and two three-day open flying events during 2007. AMA members will not pay any fees to attend or fly at these events, courtesy of AMA District I.

This year, because of the growth and popularity of electric aircraft, the specialty events focus on RC electrics. Last year the specialty focus was Giant Scale aircraft.
Any district club may apply to have a district-sponsored event. The requirements and benefits were outlined in my May MA column. We are open to having events in other states besides Massachusetts and Connecticut; however, that can only happen if your club contacts us with a desire to host an event.
With four 2007 district-sponsored events that are free and spread throughout the region, the district officers and I look forward to meeting and flying with many of you this year.
