Club News and Events
The Black Sheep Squadron of northeastern Pennsylvania recently contributed a check in the amount of $501.25 to support the Valley Santa Charity of Wyoming Valley. This charity provides gifts for needy children at Christmas. The club received local newspaper recognition for this positive activity.
For nearly half a century, the Toledo Weak Signals have been one of the premier clubs within the Academy of Model Aeronautics. The Toledo Show is undoubtedly the largest Radio Control (RC) show in North America. Many people may not realize the range of additional activities the club produces. Special thanks are extended for the club’s continued support and contribution to the AMA Scholarship program.
Flying replica models from our past is a very enjoyable facet of the hobby. The Toledo Weak Signals host a yearly contest that allows the Old-Timers to compete. Additional contests conducted by the Weak Signals include various Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) Team Selection Programs for sailplanes, electric models, and pylon racing. If you have attended a Weak Signals event, you will agree that the organization presents first-class events that cover much of our hobby.
The following pictures exemplify the efforts of various club members. Incidentally, our Associate Vice President Joe Vislay is a past president of the Weak Signals and has provided valuable service to clubs in northwestern Ohio.
The modelers of District III offer a special thank you to the Toledo Weak Signals for their efforts.
Plan now to attend the AMA Homecoming. The weekend of June 7, 2003 should be enjoyable for all. See you there!
