THREE YOUNG MEN, Kirk Eden,
Bryan Blanchard, and Alex Feist, did an
awesome job of flying at the Greater
Cincinnati Radio Control Club’s first
annual Moon Shot Pylon Race. There were
102 heats flown in the course of two days.
A successful race was enjoyed by all
who attended.
The class these boys were flying in was
called the Can-Am Pylon Society (CAPS)
Standard class, a class created that fits
between 428 and 424.
Bryan Blanchard, Kirk Eden, and Alex
Feist know how to go fast!
Left to right are Terry Frazier and
Maggie, caller for Gary Helton who came
in second place; Rhonda and Darrol
Cady, first place; Craig Grunkemeyer,
third place, and Bill Johanson, caller.
THE BLACK SHEEP Squadron of
Northeast Pennsylvania continues to teach
new members-and old-how to fly.
As part of the WINGS education and
instruction program, members are issued a
set of AMA wings for their achievements
in beginner, intermediate, advanced, and
expert levels of flying skill.
Each skill level rewards the pilot with a
different set of wings. All members must
achieve solo level to fly on their own, with
all other levels being optional.
Another part of the incentive is having
pictures published on the club’s Web site,
www.blacksheepsquadronpa.org.
Bill Coffay receives his solo-hoveringcertification
from safety officer Keith
Hazleton.
New member Bob Valenches receives
his solo wings for airplanes.
See you next time!

Various club activities require effort from a large number of club members. The
Academy is no different. The pictures below are of various members enjoying the
hobby.
