THE CAPITAL AREA Flyers of
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, performed
for numerous spectators at the club’s recent
open house. Two trainer airplanes were set
up for anyone interested in trying to fly.
Thanks are extended to Fred Thumma
and Andy Zink for their efforts as trainer
pilots, and to Joe Hower for his organization
of the event.
The Flying Aces Club (FAC) is a global
group of several Free Flight clubs with an
interest in Scale. The Commander in Chief,
Ross P. Mayo, is headquartered in Erie,
Pennsylvania.
The Cleveland Free Flight Society is a
chapter of the Flying Aces and hosts several
well-attended meets at the Lorain County
Community College. Members strive to
obtain a “kanone” as a symbol of their win.
At the June contest, Dan Kane of
Marion, Ohio, added two more kanones to
his list. Congratulations to Dan because this
allowed him to reach a lifetime total of 100
kanones.
JoAnne Brown provided pictures of
some of the action.
