Associate Vice President Paul Verger submitted this report:

Every December, WKRG-TV5 in Mobile, Alabama, holds the Great Toy Drive. For three years, the Azalea City Model Aeronautics Club (ACMA) of Mobile has teamed up with WKRG by hosting a Great Toy Drive Fly-in.
For a donation of any two toys valued at $10 or more, the entry fee is paid and lunch is free. Approximately 50 fliers flew in the event. AMCA donated all proceeds to WKRG, which amounted to 176 Toys! In addition, Larry Croder donated $100 to the cause. WKRG came out filmed at the event resulting in a five-minute report on the 10:00 news.

Another great event in District V was the inaugural Joe Micalizzi Air Show in Ceiba, Puerto Rico.
The event was held at the facilities of the Fajardo RC Model Club (FRCFC) on July 20-21, 2013. The intent was to promote all aspects of RC flying, get all Puerto Rico clubs together in one place, promote the AMA, raise money for Hogar Cuna San Cristobal, and have fun. Hogar Cuna San Cristobal is a nonprofit organization that serves to find loving homes for disadvantaged children. The airshow raised a considerable amount of money and the FRCFC is proud of its contribution.
More than 2,000 spectators visited over the weekend. All ten local aeromodeling clubs attended the event. The guys of the 35 No Limit Club came in strong Saturday with a nice helicopter display. Honors went to the Pepino RC Club that visited Sunday with 17 members all displaying their bright orange shirts. More than 90 AMA pilots visited during the two days.
CL, Scale, 3-D, jets and sport planes were flown. All Registered pilots flew and we were able to complete a demonstration for visitors. This is a true testament that in a well-organized event, there is space for all aspects of aeromodeling.
Thank you to everyone who help before, during, and after the event. You know who you are. A special thank you to all sponsors and local hobby shops, without you it would be impossible to have such a great event.
