District VI - 2006/09
Bloomington, Illinois
Club #640, Suburban RC Barnstormers, Inc., held its first annual Dome E-Nite Fly in the White Pines Golf Dome in Bensenville, Illinois, on a Saturday night in March 2006. The fun started at 11 p.m. and didn't stop until 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
Event highlights:
- Roughly 70 registered pilots from three states attended.
- More than 100 aircraft kept the flightline busy all night.
- Time was allotted for 3-D, slow-fly, scale, and helicopter events.
- Spectators saw a great mixture of flying styles, including aerobatic demonstrations from some of Illinois's best pilots.
The crowd favorite was Ultimate Combat. After two rounds, few Combat airplanes were still able to fly.
Next year's event is already being planned. Everyone is invited for another night of fun.
