ST. LOUIS AREA: Bob Underwood,
associate vice president for the St. Louis,
Missouri, region, sent in some pictures from
a program he did with six fifth-grade
classes at the school where his daughter
teaches.
They had 130 students and, in a threehour
period, 40 minutes was spent in the
library with a talk and a demonstration
assembly procedure. The group then went
outside for a brief flying exhibition then
returned to the classrooms.
A gluing table was set up in the hall for
a final check on the assembly. Class
schedules allowed two classes at a time to
be outside flying.
Bob reports that considering the time
factor and the fact that this was new to the
teachers, all went well. They even put a
couple of airplanes up on the school roof
and into the trees.
If you would like to duplicate this effort,
contact Bob for what to do and not do. He’s
listed at the top of the column.
Here are some pictures of Bob’s
Charlie Bauer program.
