164 MODEL AVIATION
KANSAS CITY, MISOURI: The 49th Mid
America Jumbo Squadron, club #1928, held
its International Miniature Aircraft
Association (IMAA) Jumbo Jamboree last
August. The event took place at the flying
field at Fleming Park in Lee’s Summit,
Missouri. There were 26 pilots and they
brought 31 models.
During the lunch break, all the models
were placed on display for the public to
view. As you can see in the pictures, there
was quite a variety of models present. There
was a large crowd of spectators and the
pilots spent much time answering questions.
This is a very nice field with a large
paved runway, which is a definite attraction
for pilots and spectators.
I have several pictures of the lineup of
models or public viewing.
Information and pictures were sent in by
CD Susan Calvin.
Does your club have an activity that you
would like to show off in the column?
Please send me prints and information
via US mail to the address in the column
