SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI: Club #702,
the Lafayette Esquadrille Control Line club
members got together to clean and paint the
Speed circle at Buder Park. Louis Matustik,
one of the members, sent in some pictures of
the work in progress.
This fence is one of the only permanent
CL safety fences in the country and is
certainly worth preserving. A lot of speed
competition and record setting has taken
place inside this fence.
Paducah, Illinois: Club #834, the Paducah
Aeromadelers, held its annual Charity Fly-
In. The two-day event was run at the
McCraken County Model Air Park.
Information given to the local
newspapers, television, and radio stations
brought a large crown to watch the event.
Allen Brickhaus, club president, sent in the
information and photos.
Club member and CD for the day, Phillip
Rudd is being interviewed by WPSD-TV
Channel 6 for broadcast that night.
The early birds are starting to arrive for the
day’s event.
Jim Franklin and Randall Hopkins always give
a flight seminar to every kid who attends the
Charity Fly-In. Here Jim is helping the
youngsters trim their free hand-launch
gliders.
Jim Franklin is signing up young pilots for our
youth flight seminar.
Hanns Bell’s large model really pleased the
crowd with its docile and calm flight.
Jim Nygaard brought this beautiful Pacific
Models clipped-wing Monocoupe to the
annual Charity Fly-In.
