TERRE HAUTE IN: The Terre Haute RC
Club held its four-stroke rally at
McKibben Field just south of Terre Haute,
Indiana. There were 36 pilots and 55
airplanes registered.
Wayne Grabbe with the Pilots Choice
award winner, a Fleet Bipe that,
according to its pilot, flies like a trainer.
Joe Buck, contest director (CD) of this
event, must be on the right side of the man
upstairs, as the weather was almost perfect.
There was sunshine with the temperature
in the low 80s and roughly a 5-mph wind
just barely quartering off the runway.
Pilots were treated to lunch with their
landing fee, and a large raffle was held
with winners being drawn all day.
Gene Gray with his splendid Bamboo
Bomber. This aircraft has not yet been
flown, but Gene is looking forward to the
first flight at a local airport when
conditions are right.

Brodak dope were used in the finishing.
