District VI Report - 2003/09

Pekin, Illinois

The Pekin R/C Club, #755, held an open house as part of the Pekin Park District’s 100th anniversary celebration. The club enlisted the services and equipment of the AMA Air Show Team Lincolnland Modelers to assist with the day’s activities, including demonstration flying and giving kids hands-on time at the controls.

The public received demonstrations on how models are built and how they fly. The club was also part of a TV production about the Park District. Jim Shupe provided the pictures and information.

Morrison, Illinois

The Morrison Model Aircraft Flyers participated in a Boy Scout jamboree for the White Eagle District. The event included more than 200 Boy Scouts plus their leaders and chaperones from Dixon, Sterling, Morrison, Oregon, Rockford, and the Chicago area.
