Murray, Kentucky
The Murray R/C Modelers hosted Cub Scout Pack 76. Twenty-two boys and their leaders had a great time at the club flying field. Each Scout got some time on the buddy box. They each received a Delta Dart to take home. Paul Morris sent in the pictures and information.
Leland, Illinois
Last September the RC Dusters club held its fall fun-fly. The temperature should have been close to 70 degrees, but it was in the low 50s. There should have been a breeze in the 5-10 mph range, but it was 20-25 mph. In spite of the unexpected weather, 19 fliers from the club came out to fly. At noon they broke for lunch, and many of the spouses brought food to share. The club’s field is an abandoned airstrip that was once used to train pilots for crop dusting. The information and pictures came from Lee Ernest.
St. Louis, Missouri
The Kirkwood Thermaleers, a Free Flight club, won the 2003 Jimmie Allen Postal Contest. The contest started in 1995 and the Thermaleers have been competing since 1996. Each year the competitors improved their scores and finally made it to the top. Ten clubs from across the United States and Canada entered this year. The Thermaleers will have the club’s name engraved on a beautiful perpetual trophy and have the honor of running the contest this year. Hal Schwan, who sent in the information, has the rules and plans. Contact him at 105 Shady Valley Dr., Chesterfield, MO 63017.
