Taylorcraft Model B (Clipped-Wing) — AMA Experimental Rules
The following describes a model that will be flown under the Experimental Aircraft rules of the AMA. Built by Vernon Coop of Joliet, Illinois, this is quite a project. The specifications of the Taylorcraft Model B clipped-wing model are listed below.

- Span: 170 inches
- Length: 130 inches

Construction Materials
- Fuselage: 1/2 x 3/4 pine; all joints fitted and screwed or doweled
- Wing: balsa ribs, pine D-tube spars, balsa sheeting
- Landing gear: fixed divided type with spring shock suspension
- Cowl: aluminum and fiberglass with hinged doors on both sides
- Covering and paint: Stits products
The airplane took six months to build, and much of the material used came from The Home Depot.
