SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI: The Kirkwood Thermaleers again held the Jacob Lee Catapult Glider contest. This contest was held on the first Tuesday of each month from February through September 2007.
Phil Baggett and Don Crosby discuss the flights of the day at one of last year’s Jacob Lee Catapult Glider contests. Al Zimmer sent pictures from the warmer days. Members of the Thermaleers, NX211, and the Breese, Illinois, Sport Flyers were the contestants. During the eight months there were 133 entries and they put up 846 flights.
Final scores were very close and Conrad Ruppert came out on top only two points ahead of Ralph Wasser. Phil Baggett placed third.
Marion, Illinois: The Sky Squires RC club members are welcomed to the Pavilion in Marion when not in use for other events. Small electric RC and rubber-powered models fill the air when the weather outside is bad. Darrell Honey supplied the information and pictures.
