District VI Report - 2009/09
Bowling Green, Kentucky
Club 1158, the Southern Kentucky Model Aero Club, was invited to give a lecture at Drakes Creek Middle School on RC planes and aviation during Science Day.
- Presenters: Finis Cary and Dennis Baack.
- They spent the entire day conducting six periods with 40–60 seventh graders in the gym.
- After the lecture, students were invited to fly a Horizon Vapor and an E-flite Blade MCX.
- More than 200 students flew; only one helicopter was damaged.
- The girls seemed to have more fun and quite often did a better job of flying.

Saint Louis, Missouri
Lou Matusik sent in pictures from the Greater Saint Louis Model Aviation Air Show. The event was held at Buder Park, where various modelers provided RC flight training to youngsters.
Vincennes, Indiana
Club 300, the Tri-County Aero Club, hosted the mayor of Vincennes, Al Baldwin, who visited the club’s Take Off and Grow (TAG) program.

- The last picture shows the crew that applied the markings on a full-size T-33; Frank directed the renovation.
