176 MODEL AVIATION
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Club 834, the
Paducah Aero Modelers, held the club’s
annual fly-in. The club decided to help one
of their members, Daniel Cheek, purchase a
new prosthetic leg. His cost would have
been $4,000 but the club and others raised
$1,279 to help him out.
Here is Daniel showing off his new leg and a
close-up of the new prosthesis complete with
airplane graphics.
One of the event directors, Tim Garland,
with his Extra getting ready for a flight.
Another event director, Phillip Rudd, with
his great Gee-Bee.
George Lankton, club vice president, is
helping John Howard prepare for a demo
flight.
Mark Trent of Saint Louis put in several
great flights with his Bud Light. The model is
a 3.3-meter Composite ARF. Mark’s skills
are to be envied.
Hanns Bell brought back the feeling of the
’40s, with his see-through, red-covered RC
cabin Playboy.
Club member Bob Deel readies his model for
an American flag flight.
Tom Boulnoise readies his biplane for a
demo flight.
Mark Trent brought his scale Mustang and
wowed the crowd with down-the-runway
passes.
Pictures and information were sent in by
Allen Brickhaus.
