174 MODEL AVIATION
I AM LOOKING for someone who might
be interested in serving as a volunteer on the
AMA Publications Committee, which I
chair. This person should have experience in
computer graphics, a background in
publishing, and, of course, be a modeler.
If there are any qualified members who
might be interested, please free to contact me
at the address or E-mail address in the
column header.
To those who want to send in material of
interest for this column, there are some
guidelines that have to be met. We can
accept digital or hard copy photos.
The digital shot must be 300 dpi
minimum either sent digitally or on a floppy
or CD. Don’t worry about the text; just
make sure if any people are named that the
names are spelled correctly.
The New Hudson Airport authority in
Michigan invited the members of the
Ribcrackers Model Airplane Club to
participate in the airport’s open house.
The club set up a display of model and
handed out aeromodeling information.
The members invited interested people
out to their field on Wednesday nights. This
is how clubs can generate interest in our
hobby to the folks who aren’t aware of our
hobby/sport.
Some of the aircraft on display at the
Ribcrackers booth at the airport open
house.

Rick Kacmarsky submitted this report. The
second annual Michigan Musciano Fun Fly
was held at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. The
West Michigan Smoke Rings in Kalamazoo,
the Radio Control Club of Detroit, and the
Lansing Area Flying Aces teamed up to
sponsor this CL event.
The event was held to honor the
legendary Walt Musciano, designer of
model aircraft for more than 50 years. Some
outstanding aircraft were displayed and
flown despite some windy conditions when
one considers the size of these small aircraft.
Awards were given in various categories.

Mark Roboti, District VII associate vice
president, sent in this report of the Delta
Dart build and fly-off sponsored by the Saint
Croix Valley R/C Club in Lindstrom,
Minnesota.
The club supplied all the materials for
the local Boy Scout Troop 172. After the
building session was completed, the Darts
took to the air. This is another example of
club involvement.
Andy Lundsted, the club president, shows
how its done.
Get ’er done!
Ready to launch.
These are examples of involvement just to
give you some ideas. What has your club
done lately?
’Till next time, get involved, have fun,
and fly safely—and take a youngster to your
flying site. Someone took you. C.A.V.U.
