2006 AMA Convention (Ontario, CA — January 13–15, 2006)

AMA held its 2006 Convention in Ontario, California, the weekend of January 13–15, 2006. Jay Mealy, a full-time AMA staff member, was the event director.

This year’s production marked the transition from "just a trade show" to a real convention of AMA members and modelers. Early numbers indicate there was record attendance.

The induction of Burt Rutan, of Scaled Composites and SpaceShipOne fame, into the Model Aviation Hall of Fame was a memorable experience.
