Heatwave in the Heartland Jumbo Fly-in
Michael Manning, editor of Super Glitch, the newsletter of the Tulsa, Oklahoma Glue Dobbers, sent in a photo from the Heatwave in the Heartland Jumbo Fly-in.
Lauderdale RC Model Club — Scout Introduction to Model Aviation (May 13, 2006)
On Saturday, May 13, 2006, the Lauderdale RC Model Club of Caldwell, Texas, hosted area Scouts for an introduction to model aviation day at its field. Approximately 25 Scouts and their leaders learned the basics of safely operating RC models and each had an opportunity to guide the models with the help of club instructors via the buddy box.
The aircraft used were part of a collection donated to the club by Richard Knee, formerly of Smithville, Texas. One of Mr. Knee’s stipulations was that the aircraft be used to help train young people.
The club served lunch to the Scouts and their sponsors during the event.
