Representation and Contact

Dr. Sandy Frank represents the membership of AMA District VIII (TX, NM, OK, AR, and LA) to the AMA Executive Council (Board of Directors). He continually strives to represent the majority view of the membership in this region. He is a licensed psychologist, but he is not a mind reader—your input is requested and necessary.

  • He solicits your input on activities, programs, and directions the AMA undertakes.
  • His telephone is answered 24/7 and he checks his e-mail regularly.
  • He acknowledges and responds to all membership input.
  • Please contact him as needed for any organizational concerns or questions regarding your AMA. He may not know every answer immediately but will investigate problems and seek answers for you.

Control Line Facility — Farmington, NM

Eight Control Line (CL) fliers gathered in Farmington, New Mexico, last October to inaugurate the new CL facility recently constructed by the city. The construction followed years of effort by Frank Bowman, who conceived the field and worked side-by-side with the city to make it happen. Another circle is under construction and should be finished by the summer of 2003.

Radio Frequency Scanner

I purchased a radio-frequency scanner designed for the radio-control 72-megahertz spectrum (DW Products model) and am testing it as I travel throughout the region attending modeling activities. So far it has performed well. If you need such a device, contact the manufacturer concerning availability and usefulness to you or your AMA-chartered club. For further information see: www.desertwolfe.com/rcscan7200.htm. Neither the AMA nor I have any financial connection with this company.

AMA is the glue that bonds modelers together!
