THE AUDITORS are doing their thing
regarding the books. I think the financial
report will be on the Web when it is
complete and I will have the usual
statements in this column as soon as they are
available.
The liability insurance premium for
2004-2005 is $890,000. That is an increase
but we have coverage. Fly safely!
I just returned from the Weak Signals’
Toledo Show. It was a great show. There
were wonderful people and I found lots of
goodies. Now to find time to use them!
You have probably heard that AMA is
going to build an indoor flying site.
Actually, AMA is investigating the
possibility of building a multipurpose
building.
This building would provide extensive
use for the museum, space for traveling
exhibits, conference rooms, exhibit and
banquet areas, a theatre for educational use,
use by families of fliers, and could be
utilized during the Nats.
The museum would have extra space for
display of traveling exhibits, student tours,
and classrooms for staff personnel and
invited lecturers. The theatre would have
multiple uses not only for museum films but
special showings at various times of the
year.
The controlled environment of the
building would provide storage for the
museum properties. The space would
provide opportunities to offer informative
programs for school children and civic
clubs, symposiums, and exhibits. The
multipurpose design of the building would
provide for year-round use.
The indoor flying site will be
approximately 50 yards square or 150 feet
each way. The ceiling height will qualify for
a Category II site. There will be observation
areas for viewing the flying.
Of course, this is not a complete list of
all things that are being considered. I am
sure additions and deletions will be made as
the design evolves.
Remember, ABC—always be courteous.
Until later ...
