RC Combat Announcement
Effective May 5, 2002, the AMA Executive Council has redefined the line from which the distance to spectators will be measured in the Radio Control Combat event.
The new wording is as follows: "The distance between the combat engagement line and the spectator line will be 500 feet per cubic inch of engine displacement." (Example: .40 engine = 200 feet.) MA

Bylaws Clarifications
In response to recent inquiries from various clubs, AMA would like to address two matters.
"Bylaws" are a set of rules and regulations by which an organization conducts its business and the rights and liabilities of its members. A "constitution" is more a formal set of procedures for governing an organization. It is a system of fundamental laws or principles for the government of the group of individuals.
Although the terms bylaws and constitution are virtually synonymous, "bylaws" is the preferred title.
"Club" is defined by AMA as a group of current AMA members who have united to charter a group for the purpose of creating an organization for the benefit of its members at the local level.
"Corporation" is a group of individuals — in this case, an AMA club — who decide to become incorporated under state law and under Internal Revenue Service regulations, usually under Section 501(c)(7) — social — or Section 501(c)(3) — charitable organization.
In the Compulsory Bylaws requirement, the terms "club" and "corporation" should be considered the same and interchangeable; however, corporation should only be used provided the entity name includes one of the following designations: "Corporation," "Corp.," or "Inc." MA
