Wright Brothers Exhibit Opens
The exhibit “From Spinning Tops to
Whirling Props,” which commemorates
Orville and Wilbur Wright’s achievements
in flight, had its grand opening
Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at the
National Model Aviation Museum at AMA
Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana.
The exhibit features a timeline of the
Wrights’ path to their first flight and two
Wright Flyer models. The centerpiece of
the exhibit is a nearly scale replica of the
Wright Flyer on which visitors can lie in
the hip cradle and operate the controls, and
then see their inputs reflected in the
Wright Flyer RCAD (Remotely Controlled
Aircraft Demonstrator).
For pictures and more information
about the exhibit, which will be on display
for approximately two years, visit the
museum Web site at http://modelaircraft.
