AMA Convention 2004
A change of location did nothing to spoil the success of the AMA Convention 2004, held January 9–12 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California. Sponsored by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), the show moved from its longtime location in Pasadena to Ontario this year.
Final attendance numbers are not yet available, but attendance was "significantly up" compared to 2003, according to AMA Programs Director Jay Mealy. Several exhibitors have already requested more booth space for 2005, and AMA is seeking an additional 20,000 square feet of show space for next year.
Make-and-take activities drew dozens of enthusiastic youngsters, and their rubber-powered, balsa-wood "air force" took to the air time and again in the convention hall.
"I was really pleased with all aspects of the show," noted AMA president and owner of Dave Brown Products Inc., Dave Brown. "And as an exhibitor, I was equally pleased."
He said that he was happy with the new facility and had heard nothing but positive comments from other vendors.
Dates for next year's AMA Convention are January 7–9. For more information about the show, contact AMA Programs Director Jay Mealy at (765) 287-1256, extension 270, or [email protected].
