Late-breaking news from Headquarters

No Executive Director's Column

Because of moving the AMA Headquarters operation in March, Executive Director Joyce Hager's column, "View from HQ," will resume in the July 2001 issue. MA

AMA Membership Benefit

Through the Outlook Vision program, which AMA promotes to members, one can reduce the cost of eyewear purchases, saving out-of-pocket money.

One member reported, "I saved $68.25 on my new eyeglasses over what my company's group health insurance paid. Since my wife also got new glasses, there was an additional savings of $73.75.

"The Outlook Vision discount card costs $6.95 a year. When you subtract that minimal cost from the total savings, I ended up with $135.05 in my pocket. That is at least worth two free AMA memberships. Thanks, AMA, for the added value of AMA membership!"

The card application is available on the AMA Web site, www.modelaircraft.org, under "Membership Services." Click on "AMA Documents in PDF Format" and print document number 502. MA

New Life Member

The Academy of Model Aeronautics recently welcomed a new Life Member: Peter H. Coleman (L812) of Dallas, Georgia.

For information about becoming a Life Member, contact AMA Headquarters at (800) 435-9262. MA

MA Archives Update

The Model Aviation archives, currently available through Digital Publishing on CD-ROM, now has the update for 2000 available at a reduced rate.

AMA members can purchase the annual update for $30. The nonmember rate is $50. See page 55 for more information. MA

Corrections

  • An error was published on page 109 in Stan Alexander's May 2001 "RC Scale" column. Roy Vaillancourt draws all of his own plans for Scale modelers.
  • An incorrect Web site address was listed on page 68 in the sidebar of Alex Morton's May article, "Don't Quit the Greatest Sport on Earth." The correct address for Dick Miller's Web site is www.empsinc.com/modata.html.

We apologize for the errors.
