I want to recognize a new world record for F3 Radio Control Open Glider for Distance Goal and Return that was set on September 28, 2012. The new record was set simultaneously by Dean Gradwell from Jacksonville, Oregon, and John Ellias from Camarillo, California, and was achieved in the California valley.
The new record distance established by this accomplishment is 57.56 kilometers (35.7661 miles) and is held by both as a simultaneous record.
The AMA congratulates these two gentlemen on their great accomplishment.
