The Motor Boys are an informal group of men from around the world who have a common hobby interest in the history, design, and construction of model engines.
The purpose of this book is to present some of the historic, unusual, and interesting engine designs that the Motor Boys have researched. The hope is that others will appreciate the engine designs presented and learn to enjoy them as much as the Motor Boys have.
The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) published this book and is making it available to the modeling public. All profits from the book will be given to AMA's Junior Program.
Ron Chernich did all the CAD (computer-aided design) work for the drawings, and Tim Dannels arranged all the introductions. In the development of this book, many drawings, pages of text, and pictures have been sent around the world via the Internet to coordinate the effort.

This is a true ARF sport pattern model. It is fully aerobatic, with a symmetrical airfoil, and is capable of flying the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) pattern.
This is not a trainer; it's a good second or third model. It comes completely prebuilt from balsa, plywood, and spruce, and is painted and covered. It is supplied with a prepainted fiberglass cowl and plastic spinner.
The fuselage is prebuilt, fiberglassed, and painted, ready for installation of the prebuilt and covered tail group and landing gear. The wing is prebuilt and covered with heat-shrink film, ready for aileron servo installation.
The motor mount, fuel tank, pushrods, control horns, landing gear, and wheels come with the kit. An illustrated construction manual is supplied with the model. It can be assembled in as few as five hours, ready to fly.
The Flyboy II has a wingspan of 51 inches, a length of 49½ inches, and a 449-square-inch wing area. This less-than-five-pound model's recommended engine size is a .40–.45 two-stroke or a .40–.50 four-stroke. It requires a four-channel radio driving four servos.

These Ultimate Wheel Chocks are designed to minimize inadvertent model-airplane movement during display, maintenance, and transportation, and to provide stability and predictability during engine start-up and minimum engine idle.
The chocks are engineered with an effective omnidirectional, 90° “V-Block” design, with a tough skid-resistant base. They are more than nine inches in diameter, and can be used on tire sizes ranging from 1.5 to 5 inches.
The chocks are made from anodized aluminum, and are corrosion, fuel, and oil resistant. They are portable and stackable. Warning strobe system

The model 852 airborne low-voltage warning strobe system couples with the EMS/Jomar UBB (ultimate battery backer) to warn you that the UBB has switched to the backup battery.
The strobe is coupled with the UBB by a small optic coupling device, so there is no danger of rf from the strobe to your receiver.
The 852 is self-powered (uses a single AA alkaline cell to power the strobe), and draws no current or voltage from the airborne batteries of your radio system.

There are "stand-alone" versions of our warning strobes 757-4 and 757-6, which monitor via a voltage comparator circuit. These are also self-powered opto-coupling. They plug into the regular flight-pack battery circuit via the receiver or other method.
The 757s monitor the voltages from the flight packs, and at a preset point, will turn on the strobe, which is visible from several hundred feet in the air. This alerts the pilot that the battery is getting critical and that he/she should land immediately.
