JR IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with
KSJ tuned muffler from Horizon
Hobby, Inc., 4105 Fieldstone Rd.,
Champaign IL 61822; Tel.: (217) 355-
9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
For the helicopter modeler in the
market for a great 50-size helicopter
engine, the search is over. The JR IMZ
RV-50S has everything a power-hungry
pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned
muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide
valve carburetor with reed-valve
induction, the new IMZ RV50-S is a
smooth-running engine and extremely
reliable in any flight regime.
Its thrust-to-weight ratio on the test
model was well beyond that of the
nearest competitor and yielded more
torque. The side-mounted carburetor was
a breeze to tune, and the reed-valve
induction helped keep the mixture right
where it was set.
The IMZ RV-50S features a unique
mounting pattern, so a special mount is
required to install it in the JR Voyager 50
or Ergo 46. If you want to overpower your
40- to 46-size helicopter, this is the
engine for you.
IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with
muffler (JRP953001), $479.99; IMZ
engine mount: Voyager 50 (JRP60763),
$39; IMZ engine mount: Ergo 46
(JRP960765), $39.
JR is distributed exclusively by

Colombo Anderson Funky 40 @ $119
from Planes Plus, Inc., 10025 Clow
Creek Rd., Plainfield IL 60544; Tel.:
(630) 904-9983; Fax: (630) 904-5077;
Web site: www.planesplus.com or
www.marcelocolombo.com.ar.
The Funky 40 is the most lighthearted
design in the Colombo Anderson fleet.
The design incorporates laser-cut
plywood and balsa parts, self-aligning,
interlocking fuselage assemblies, CNCcut
foam turtledecks, clear canopy,
molded wheel pants, fiberglass cowl
(including a clear cowl for engine fitting),
and CNC-cut aluminum landing gear.
The result is a full-fuselage fun-fly
model capable of all high-performance 3-
D maneuvers. The combination of low
weight and strong construction gives the
Funky 40 high maneuverability including
hovering, Torque Rolls, Waterfalls, and
flat spins.
The model is roughly 54 inches long
with a wingspan of approximately 51
inches, and it weighs roughly four
pounds. It is designed to be flown with
nearly any .40-.50 two-stroke. Its
relatively small size makes the Funky 40
easy to transport and economical to
operate. The Funky 40 requires five to six
servos and a four-channel radio.
The Colombo Anderson Funky 40 was
designed by renowned Argentine pilot
Marcelo Colombo, and it is distributed in
the USA by Don Kanak at Planes Plus,
Inc.

Jerry Bates Grumman Helldiver from
Bob Holman Plans, Box 741, San
Bernardino CA 92402; Tel.: (909) 885-
3959; Fax: (909) 889-9307; E-mail:
[email protected]; Web site:
www.bhplans.com.
Laser-cut parts are available for the
Jerry Bates 1⁄6-scale Grumman Helldiver.
The Helldiver is a large model with a 100-
inch wingspan. Power is a Zenoah G-62.
Plans show flaps and retracts.
Laser-cut parts include the parts that
need to be cut to shape. This is an
advantage to the builder in that he or she
can hand pick the standard sheet and
strip to complete the model.
Tommy McClellan built the Helldiver
shown. It flies well and placed first in a
recent Scale contest in Alabama.
Accessories such as the cowl and canopy
are available.
Plans are $45 plus shipping. Laser-cut
parts including the cowl flaps with the
scale number of holes are $230 plus $12
shipping.
JR Voyager 50 CCPM 3-D helicopter
from Horizon Hobby, Inc., 4105
Fieldstone Rd., Champaign IL 61822;
Tel.: (217) 355-9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
When it’s time to take the plunge into
the world of 3-D helicopter flying, the
Voyager 50 is an ideal blend of price and
performance. At the core of the Voyager
50 is a frame patterned after the JR World
Championships-winning Vigor. Like the
Vigor, the Voyager employs the use of
120° CCPM for super-simple linkage
setup and a belt-driven tail rotor. The
result is a kit that goes together quickly
and easily, allowing the budding 3-D pilot
to get into the air fast.
Replacement parts are easy to find
because the Voyager shares many of the
same parts with the popular JR Ergo
30/46. Topping off the kit is a fiberglass
“mini Vigor” canopy.
The Voyager 50 is not much bigger
than a regular Ergo 30 but is designed to
fly with today’s most powerful 50-size
engines. This large power-to-weight ratio
gives the machine 3-D ability that’s on par
with 60-size helicopters.
For the ultimate in performance, JR
recommends its IMZ RV-50S engine
specially designed for the Voyager 50. (A
special engine mount [JRP960763] is
required to install the IMZ RV-50S.)
JR is distributed exclusively by Horizon
Hobby, Inc.

K&A Models Unlimited announces the
release of its Speed 400 Razzor kit (kit
10144), which was designed with fun in
mind. This is a simple balsa-and-plywood
kit that builds fast. The Razzor is super
stable in flight and performs outstanding
aerobatic maneuvers.
All of the parts in the kit are precision
machine cut from balsa and plywood. The
kit also comes with an ABS canopy. All-up
time to frame the Razzor is approximately
six hours less covering. It is set up with a
standard Speed 400 six-volt motor, 4.7 x
4.7 cam propeller, 15-amp BEC motor
controller, and seven-cell 600 AE battery
pack.
With this setup, the Razzor has a great
speed range from slow flight of roughly 7
mph up to 45 mph. The best thing about
the Razzor is its aerobatic performance.
You can fly it inverted, do Rolls,
Hammerheads, Split Ss, huge Loops, and
it even has great vertical performance.
Control functions on the Razzor are
elevons or elevator and ailerons.
Specifications: wingspan, 27.75
inches; wing area, 233 square inches;
wing loading, 11 ounces/square foot;
ready weight, 16-18 ounces.

Giant Scale, 100-inch AT-6 Texan ARF
@ $1,495 from GT Aero Products, 2982
Chippewa Ave., Simi Valley CA 93063;
Tel.: (805) 579-9026; E-mail:
[email protected].
This AT-6 Texan is a true Scale ARF
aircraft. The kit features an all-composite,
vacuum-bagged fuselage, joined and
ready to paint with servo tray installed and
engine mounts ready for your trusty
Zenoah G-62. Just mount the finished
stabilizer and rudder to complete the
fuselage.
The wing kit includes a composite shell
center-section with rib structure
preinstalled in the bottom shell. The outer
wing panels are finished and ready to
paint with spar preinstalled. By inserting
the outer panels (spars) into the centersection
and gluing them in place, the
builder forms a full-span I-beam spar
capable of withstanding the incredible G
loads of the Giant Scale air-racing
environment. Add the center-section top
shell, and the wing is complete.
Other kit features include Kevlar skinhinged
surfaces, rubber-band-mounted
landing gear (for those less-than-perfect
landings!), internal flight-surface linkages
(except rudder), front and rear instrument
panels and glareshields, canopy, special
“Spiral Flow” cowling, pushrods and
linkages, premounted and steerable tail
wheel, and instruction guide.
This tame World War II trainer will work
for racing, sport flying, or Scale flying.

JR IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with

Hobby, Inc., 4105 Fieldstone Rd.,
Champaign IL 61822; Tel.: (217) 355-
9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
For the helicopter modeler in the
market for a great 50-size helicopter
engine, the search is over. The JR IMZ
RV-50S has everything a power-hungry
pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned
muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide
valve carburetor with reed-valve
induction, the new IMZ RV50-S is a
smooth-running engine and extremely
reliable in any flight regime.
Its thrust-to-weight ratio on the test
model was well beyond that of the
nearest competitor and yielded more
torque. The side-mounted carburetor was
a breeze to tune, and the reed-valve
induction helped keep the mixture right
where it was set.
The IMZ RV-50S features a unique
mounting pattern, so a special mount is
required to install it in the JR Voyager 50
or Ergo 46. If you want to overpower your
40- to 46-size helicopter, this is the
engine for you.
IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with
muffler (JRP953001), $479.99; IMZ
engine mount: Voyager 50 (JRP60763),
$39; IMZ engine mount: Ergo 46
(JRP960765), $39.

The Funky 40 is the most lighthearted
design in the Colombo Anderson fleet.
The design incorporates laser-cut
plywood and balsa parts, self-aligning,
interlocking fuselage assemblies, CNCcut
foam turtledecks, clear canopy,
molded wheel pants, fiberglass cowl
(including a clear cowl for engine fitting),
and CNC-cut aluminum landing gear.
The result is a full-fuselage fun-fly
model capable of all high-performance 3-
D maneuvers. The combination of low
weight and strong construction gives the
Funky 40 high maneuverability including
hovering, Torque Rolls, Waterfalls, and
flat spins.
The model is roughly 54 inches long
with a wingspan of approximately 51
inches, and it weighs roughly four
pounds. It is designed to be flown with
nearly any .40-.50 two-stroke. Its
relatively small size makes the Funky 40
easy to transport and economical to
operate. The Funky 40 requires five to six
servos and a four-channel radio.
The Colombo Anderson Funky 40 was
designed by renowned Argentine pilot
Marcelo Colombo, and it is distributed in
the USA by Don Kanak at Planes Plus,

Laser-cut parts are available for the
Jerry Bates 1⁄6-scale Grumman Helldiver.
The Helldiver is a large model with a 100-
inch wingspan. Power is a Zenoah G-62.
Plans show flaps and retracts.
Laser-cut parts include the parts that
need to be cut to shape. This is an
advantage to the builder in that he or she
can hand pick the standard sheet and
strip to complete the model.
Tommy McClellan built the Helldiver
shown. It flies well and placed first in a
recent Scale contest in Alabama.
Accessories such as the cowl and canopy
are available.
Plans are $45 plus shipping. Laser-cut
parts including the cowl flaps with the
scale number of holes are $230 plus $12

JR Voyager 50 CCPM 3-D helicopter
from Horizon Hobby, Inc., 4105
Fieldstone Rd., Champaign IL 61822;
Tel.: (217) 355-9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
When it’s time to take the plunge into
the world of 3-D helicopter flying, the
Voyager 50 is an ideal blend of price and
performance. At the core of the Voyager
50 is a frame patterned after the JR World
Championships-winning Vigor. Like the
Vigor, the Voyager employs the use of
120° CCPM for super-simple linkage
setup and a belt-driven tail rotor. The
result is a kit that goes together quickly
and easily, allowing the budding 3-D pilot
to get into the air fast.
Replacement parts are easy to find
because the Voyager shares many of the
same parts with the popular JR Ergo
30/46. Topping off the kit is a fiberglass
“mini Vigor” canopy.
The Voyager 50 is not much bigger
than a regular Ergo 30 but is designed to
fly with today’s most powerful 50-size
engines. This large power-to-weight ratio
gives the machine 3-D ability that’s on par
with 60-size helicopters.
For the ultimate in performance, JR
recommends its IMZ RV-50S engine
specially designed for the Voyager 50. (A
special engine mount [JRP960763] is
required to install the IMZ RV-50S.)
JR is distributed exclusively by Horizon
Hobby, Inc.

JR IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with

Hobby, Inc., 4105 Fieldstone Rd.,
Champaign IL 61822; Tel.: (217) 355-
9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
For the helicopter modeler in the
market for a great 50-size helicopter
engine, the search is over. The JR IMZ
RV-50S has everything a power-hungry
pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned
muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide
valve carburetor with reed-valve
induction, the new IMZ RV50-S is a
smooth-running engine and extremely
reliable in any flight regime.
Its thrust-to-weight ratio on the test
model was well beyond that of the
nearest competitor and yielded more
torque. The side-mounted carburetor was
a breeze to tune, and the reed-valve
induction helped keep the mixture right
where it was set.
The IMZ RV-50S features a unique
mounting pattern, so a special mount is
required to install it in the JR Voyager 50
or Ergo 46. If you want to overpower your
40- to 46-size helicopter, this is the
engine for you.
IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with
muffler (JRP953001), $479.99; IMZ
engine mount: Voyager 50 (JRP60763),
$39; IMZ engine mount: Ergo 46
(JRP960765), $39.

The Funky 40 is the most lighthearted
design in the Colombo Anderson fleet.
The design incorporates laser-cut
plywood and balsa parts, self-aligning,
interlocking fuselage assemblies, CNCcut
foam turtledecks, clear canopy,
molded wheel pants, fiberglass cowl
(including a clear cowl for engine fitting),
and CNC-cut aluminum landing gear.
The result is a full-fuselage fun-fly
model capable of all high-performance 3-
D maneuvers. The combination of low
weight and strong construction gives the
Funky 40 high maneuverability including
hovering, Torque Rolls, Waterfalls, and
flat spins.
The model is roughly 54 inches long
with a wingspan of approximately 51
inches, and it weighs roughly four
pounds. It is designed to be flown with
nearly any .40-.50 two-stroke. Its
relatively small size makes the Funky 40
easy to transport and economical to
operate. The Funky 40 requires five to six
servos and a four-channel radio.
The Colombo Anderson Funky 40 was
designed by renowned Argentine pilot
Marcelo Colombo, and it is distributed in
the USA by Don Kanak at Planes Plus,

Laser-cut parts are available for the
Jerry Bates 1⁄6-scale Grumman Helldiver.
The Helldiver is a large model with a 100-
inch wingspan. Power is a Zenoah G-62.
Plans show flaps and retracts.
Laser-cut parts include the parts that
need to be cut to shape. This is an
advantage to the builder in that he or she
can hand pick the standard sheet and
strip to complete the model.
Tommy McClellan built the Helldiver
shown. It flies well and placed first in a
recent Scale contest in Alabama.
Accessories such as the cowl and canopy
are available.
Plans are $45 plus shipping. Laser-cut
parts including the cowl flaps with the
scale number of holes are $230 plus $12

JR Voyager 50 CCPM 3-D helicopter
from Horizon Hobby, Inc., 4105
Fieldstone Rd., Champaign IL 61822;
Tel.: (217) 355-9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
When it’s time to take the plunge into
the world of 3-D helicopter flying, the
Voyager 50 is an ideal blend of price and
performance. At the core of the Voyager
50 is a frame patterned after the JR World
Championships-winning Vigor. Like the
Vigor, the Voyager employs the use of
120° CCPM for super-simple linkage
setup and a belt-driven tail rotor. The
result is a kit that goes together quickly
and easily, allowing the budding 3-D pilot
to get into the air fast.
Replacement parts are easy to find
because the Voyager shares many of the
same parts with the popular JR Ergo
30/46. Topping off the kit is a fiberglass
“mini Vigor” canopy.
The Voyager 50 is not much bigger
than a regular Ergo 30 but is designed to
fly with today’s most powerful 50-size
engines. This large power-to-weight ratio
gives the machine 3-D ability that’s on par
with 60-size helicopters.
For the ultimate in performance, JR
recommends its IMZ RV-50S engine
specially designed for the Voyager 50. (A
special engine mount [JRP960763] is
required to install the IMZ RV-50S.)
JR is distributed exclusively by Horizon
Hobby, Inc.

Artool Products Company announces
the availability of its Americana-series
Freehand Airbrush Templates:
“Patriotica,” designed by the Skull
Master himself, Craig Fraser. This is not
just another collection of patriotic
symbols, but ones guaranteed not to
have graced a single famous monument
to date.
“Patriotica” comes in four easily
recognizable motifs: “Red” PTR-1SP
(red, as in the stripes); “White” PTR-2SP
(white is for the stars); and “Blue” PTR-
3SP (this stencil does contain stars,
which normally are not blue, but “Red,
White and White” didn’t sound patriotic
enough); and “Eagle One” PTR-4SP
(no explanation required.). Or ask for
all four: PTR-5SP.
The Artool “Patriotica” Freehand
Templates are completely solvent
proof. For a complete listing of the

Friskfilm. Art Mask is a medium-tack
masking film which adheres to nearly
all porous surfaces. It is especially
suited for all canvas applications. It

great with watercolor papers.
Art Mask is easy to cut and lift.
Plus, it is easy to apply, even on larger
flat surfaces, and it will not wrinkle,
bleed, or flutter under airbrush spray. It
will not lift paint when removed and/or
repositioned, but will stay in place
thanks to the smart-tack adhesive
backing.
Art Mask can be used with waterbased
and solvent-based paints, and it
is available in two convenient sizes:

Hobby, Inc., 4105 Fieldstone Rd.,
Champaign IL 61822; Tel.: (217) 355-
9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
For the helicopter modeler in the
market for a great 50-size helicopter
engine, the search is over. The JR IMZ
RV-50S has everything a power-hungry
pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned
muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide
valve carburetor with reed-valve
induction, the new IMZ RV50-S is a
smooth-running engine and extremely
reliable in any flight regime.
Its thrust-to-weight ratio on the test
model was well beyond that of the
nearest competitor and yielded more
torque. The side-mounted carburetor was
a breeze to tune, and the reed-valve
induction helped keep the mixture right
where it was set.
The IMZ RV-50S features a unique
mounting pattern, so a special mount is
required to install it in the JR Voyager 50
or Ergo 46. If you want to overpower your
40- to 46-size helicopter, this is the
engine for you.
IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with
muffler (JRP953001), $479.99; IMZ
engine mount: Voyager 50 (JRP60763),
$39; IMZ engine mount: Ergo 46
(JRP960765), $39.

(including a clear cowl for engine fitting),
and CNC-cut aluminum landing gear.

model capable of all high-performance 3-
D maneuvers. The combination of low
weight and strong construction gives the
Funky 40 high maneuverability including
hovering, Torque Rolls, Waterfalls, and
flat spins.
The model is roughly 54 inches long
with a wingspan of approximately 51
inches, and it weighs roughly four
pounds. It is designed to be flown with
nearly any .40-.50 two-stroke. Its
relatively small size makes the Funky 40
easy to transport and economical to
operate. The Funky 40 requires five to six
servos and a four-channel radio.

Jerry Bates 1⁄6-scale Grumman Helldiver.
The Helldiver is a large model with a 100-
inch wingspan. Power is a Zenoah G-62.
Plans show flaps and retracts.

need to be cut to shape. This is an
advantage to the builder in that he or she
can hand pick the standard sheet and
strip to complete the model.
Tommy McClellan built the Helldiver
shown. It flies well and placed first in a
recent Scale contest in Alabama.
Accessories such as the cowl and canopy
are available.
Plans are $45 plus shipping. Laser-cut

JR Voyager 50 CCPM 3-D helicopter
from Horizon Hobby, Inc., 4105
Fieldstone Rd., Champaign IL 61822;
Tel.: (217) 355-9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
When it’s time to take the plunge into
the world of 3-D helicopter flying, the
Voyager 50 is an ideal blend of price and
performance. At the core of the Voyager
50 is a frame patterned after the JR World
Championships-winning Vigor. Like the
Vigor, the Voyager employs the use of
120° CCPM for super-simple linkage
setup and a belt-driven tail rotor. The
result is a kit that goes together quickly
and easily, allowing the budding 3-D pilot
to get into the air fast.
Replacement parts are easy to find
because the Voyager shares many of the
same parts with the popular JR Ergo
30/46. Topping off the kit is a fiberglass
“mini Vigor” canopy.
The Voyager 50 is not much bigger
than a regular Ergo 30 but is designed to
fly with today’s most powerful 50-size
engines. This large power-to-weight ratio
gives the machine 3-D ability that’s on par
with 60-size helicopters.
For the ultimate in performance, JR
recommends its IMZ RV-50S engine
specially designed for the Voyager 50. (A
special engine mount [JRP960763] is
required to install the IMZ RV-50S.)
JR is distributed exclusively by Horizon
Hobby, Inc.

which normally are not blue, but “Red,
White and White” didn’t sound patriotic
enough); and “Eagle One” PTR-4SP
(no explanation required.). Or ask for
all four: PTR-5SP.

For the helicopter modeler in the

engine, the search is over. The JR IMZ
RV-50S has everything a power-hungry
pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned
muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide

reliable in any flight regime.
Its thrust-to-weight ratio on the test

nearest competitor and yielded more
torque. The side-mounted carburetor was
a breeze to tune, and the reed-valve
induction helped keep the mixture right
where it was set.
The IMZ RV-50S features a unique
mounting pattern, so a special mount is
required to install it in the JR Voyager 50

JR Voyager 50 CCPM 3-D helicopter
from Horizon Hobby, Inc., 4105
Fieldstone Rd., Champaign IL 61822;
Tel.: (217) 355-9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
When it’s time to take the plunge into
the world of 3-D helicopter flying, the
Voyager 50 is an ideal blend of price and
performance. At the core of the Voyager
50 is a frame patterned after the JR World
Championships-winning Vigor. Like the
Vigor, the Voyager employs the use of
120° CCPM for super-simple linkage
setup and a belt-driven tail rotor. The
result is a kit that goes together quickly
and easily, allowing the budding 3-D pilot
to get into the air fast.
Replacement parts are easy to find
because the Voyager shares many of the
same parts with the popular JR Ergo
30/46. Topping off the kit is a fiberglass
“mini Vigor” canopy.
The Voyager 50 is not much bigger
than a regular Ergo 30 but is designed to
fly with today’s most powerful 50-size
engines. This large power-to-weight ratio
gives the machine 3-D ability that’s on par
with 60-size helicopters.
For the ultimate in performance, JR
recommends its IMZ RV-50S engine
specially designed for the Voyager 50. (A
special engine mount [JRP960763] is
required to install the IMZ RV-50S.)
JR is distributed exclusively by Horizon
Hobby, Inc.

enough); and “Eagle One” PTR-4SP

JR IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with

Hobby, Inc., 4105 Fieldstone Rd.,
Champaign IL 61822; Tel.: (217) 355-
9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
For the helicopter modeler in the
market for a great 50-size helicopter
engine, the search is over. The JR IMZ
RV-50S has everything a power-hungry
pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned
muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide
valve carburetor with reed-valve
induction, the new IMZ RV50-S is a
smooth-running engine and extremely
reliable in any flight regime.
Its thrust-to-weight ratio on the test
model was well beyond that of the
nearest competitor and yielded more
torque. The side-mounted carburetor was
a breeze to tune, and the reed-valve
induction helped keep the mixture right
where it was set.
The IMZ RV-50S features a unique
mounting pattern, so a special mount is
required to install it in the JR Voyager 50
or Ergo 46. If you want to overpower your
40- to 46-size helicopter, this is the
engine for you.
IMZ RV-50S helicopter engine with
muffler (JRP953001), $479.99; IMZ
engine mount: Voyager 50 (JRP60763),
$39; IMZ engine mount: Ergo 46
(JRP960765), $39.

Web site: www.planesplus.com or

The Funky 40 is the most lighthearted
design in the Colombo Anderson fleet.
The design incorporates laser-cut
plywood and balsa parts, self-aligning,
interlocking fuselage assemblies, CNCcut
foam turtledecks, clear canopy,
molded wheel pants, fiberglass cowl
(including a clear cowl for engine fitting),
and CNC-cut aluminum landing gear.
The result is a full-fuselage fun-fly
model capable of all high-performance 3-
D maneuvers. The combination of low
weight and strong construction gives the
Funky 40 high maneuverability including
hovering, Torque Rolls, Waterfalls, and
flat spins.
The model is roughly 54 inches long
with a wingspan of approximately 51
inches, and it weighs roughly four
pounds. It is designed to be flown with
nearly any .40-.50 two-stroke. Its
relatively small size makes the Funky 40
easy to transport and economical to
operate. The Funky 40 requires five to six
servos and a four-channel radio.
The Colombo Anderson Funky 40 was
designed by renowned Argentine pilot
Marcelo Colombo, and it is distributed in

Laser-cut parts are available for the
Jerry Bates 1⁄6-scale Grumman Helldiver.
The Helldiver is a large model with a 100-
inch wingspan. Power is a Zenoah G-62.
Plans show flaps and retracts.
Laser-cut parts include the parts that
need to be cut to shape. This is an
advantage to the builder in that he or she
can hand pick the standard sheet and
strip to complete the model.
Tommy McClellan built the Helldiver
shown. It flies well and placed first in a
recent Scale contest in Alabama.
Accessories such as the cowl and canopy
are available.
Plans are $45 plus shipping. Laser-cut
parts including the cowl flaps with the
scale number of holes are $230 plus $12

JR Voyager 50 CCPM 3-D helicopter
from Horizon Hobby, Inc., 4105
Fieldstone Rd., Champaign IL 61822;
Tel.: (217) 355-9511; Web site:
www.horizonhobby.com.
When it’s time to take the plunge into
the world of 3-D helicopter flying, the
Voyager 50 is an ideal blend of price and
performance. At the core of the Voyager
50 is a frame patterned after the JR World
Championships-winning Vigor. Like the
Vigor, the Voyager employs the use of
120° CCPM for super-simple linkage
setup and a belt-driven tail rotor. The
result is a kit that goes together quickly
and easily, allowing the budding 3-D pilot
to get into the air fast.
Replacement parts are easy to find
because the Voyager shares many of the
same parts with the popular JR Ergo
30/46. Topping off the kit is a fiberglass
“mini Vigor” canopy.
The Voyager 50 is not much bigger
than a regular Ergo 30 but is designed to
fly with today’s most powerful 50-size
engines. This large power-to-weight ratio
gives the machine 3-D ability that’s on par
with 60-size helicopters.
For the ultimate in performance, JR
recommends its IMZ RV-50S engine
specially designed for the Voyager 50. (A
special engine mount [JRP960763] is
required to install the IMZ RV-50S.)
JR is distributed exclusively by Horizon
Hobby, Inc.

Giant Scale, 100-inch AT-6 Texan ARF
@ $1,495 from GT Aero Products, 2982
Chippewa Ave., Simi Valley CA 93063;
Tel.: (805) 579-9026; E-mail:
[email protected].
This AT-6 Texan is a true Scale ARF
aircraft. The kit features an all-composite,
vacuum-bagged fuselage, joined and
ready to paint with servo tray installed and
engine mounts ready for your trusty
Zenoah G-62. Just mount the finished
stabilizer and rudder to complete the
fuselage.
The wing kit includes a composite shell
center-section with rib structure
preinstalled in the bottom shell. The outer
wing panels are finished and ready to
paint with spar preinstalled. By inserting
the outer panels (spars) into the centersection
and gluing them in place, the
builder forms a full-span I-beam spar
capable of withstanding the incredible G
loads of the Giant Scale air-racing
environment. Add the center-section top
shell, and the wing is complete.
Other kit features include Kevlar skinhinged
surfaces, rubber-band-mounted
landing gear (for those less-than-perfect
landings!), internal flight-surface linkages
(except rudder), front and rear instrument
panels and glareshields, canopy, special
“Spiral Flow” cowling, pushrods and
linkages, premounted and steerable tail
wheel, and instruction guide.
This tame World War II trainer will work
for racing, sport flying, or Scale flying.
How to Cover Models With Japanese
Tissue video @ $19.95 from Airborne
Media, 5655 David Pl., Fairfield OH
45014; Tel.: (888) 829-4060.
You can learn the techniques required
to achieve expert results from one of the
world’s most experienced and successful
Free Flight modelers, Larry Kruse.
In this video Larry explains the types of
Japanese tissues that are available,
shows how to make helpful trimming
tools, then takes viewers step by step
through three popular methods of
applying the tissue to a Free Flight model.
He covers the stabilizer of the
demonstration model with the White Glue
and Water technique, the fuselage with
the tried-and-true Dope and Thinner
method, then shows the new and
innovative Glue Stick procedure as he
quickly and easily covers the wing.
Extreme close-up footage clarifies each of
these steps, amplified by Larry’s running
narrative in which he gives dozens of
useful tissuing tips.
Beginners and experts will find this
video indispensable when it is time to
cover that new model with Japanese
tissue!
Run time is 117 minutes (VHS only).

This aircraft is completely finished with
only radio installation and balancing
required before it’s ready to fly. As is its
full-scale counterpart, this model is
supplied with interchangeable wingtips,
allowing it to be flown as an aerobatic 4.0-
meter (15m standard class) or a 4.8-meter
(18m open class) high-aspect thermal
hunter sailplane. The strong wings are
hollow molded from fiberglass with carbon
fiber on the inner panels and full carbonfiber
spar caps.
The scale detailing includes a superstrong
wing-joiner system made up of two
interlocking spar extensions that attach to
a bulkhead in the fuselage with a single
pin, just like the full-scale counterpart, not
to mention a front-hinged canopy and
working sliding vent window.
The DG 600 also features a completely
detailed cockpit interior, including
instrument mushroom and an upholstered
pilot seat with safety harness—ready to
accept your scale pilot! For realism, even
an optional water-ballast system is
available.
Specifications: scale, 1:3.75;
wingspan, 158-189 inches; wing area,
1,162 square inches; wing airfoil, HQ
2.5/14-HQ 2/10; wing loading, 20 ounces
