FS8CP eight-channel receiver/Co-Pilot
from FMA Direct, Inc., 5716A Industry
Ln., Frederick MD 21704; Tel.: (301)
668-7615; Fax: (301) 668-7619.
FMA Direct has begun shipment of its
FS8CP eight-channel receiver/Co-Pilot.
This new product combines the critically
acclaimed Co-Pilot with a new eightchannel
receiver in one unit. The FS8CP
builds on the attributes and success of
the recently released FS5 receiver by
adding three channels, integrating the
Co-Pilot, and giving helicopter pilots a
CCPM capability.
As with the FS5, the FS8CP utilizes
DSR technology to block all interference.
Because Co-Pilot is an integral part of
the FS8CP, true fail-safe operation is
available. The operator only has to
preprogram throttle and rudder settings,
and the FS8CP will keep the wings and
nose level, allowing a controlled descent
should the signal be lost.

Star 40 has been the “second airplane” of
choice for thousands of modelers since

Like all Sig ARF airplanes, only quality
balsa and plywood are used in building
the Four-Star 40 ARF. Each assembly is
hand covered using genuine Oracover
film for a strong, good-looking finish. A
fiberglass wheel-pant set enhances the
beauty of the model and is included at no
additional charge. A complete hardware
package is included, as is a fully
illustrated assembly manual to guide you
each step of the way.
The Sig Four-Star 40 ARF is available
in two color choices: red or yellow. This

Electronic Speed Controls from FMA
Direct, Inc., 5716A Industry Ln.,
Frederick MD 21704; Tel.: (301) 668-
7615; Fax: (301) 668-7619.
FMA Direct announces a new line of
Electronic Speed Controls. The Super 20
is the latest in this line of auto cell
detecting ESCs for electric flight. The
Super 20 joins the Super 30 ESC, and
both are presently shipping. In the near
future FMA Direct will be announcing the
Super 9 ESC.
As their names would indicate, they
are capable of controlling 20, 30, and 9
amps respectively. These speed controls
are especially designed for use with Li-
Poly batteries but are equally capable with
Ni-Cd or NiMH batteries.
The unique features of the Super
series are that they auto detect the
number of cells at power-up and then set
the motor cutoff voltage corresponding to
the number of cells. This prevents too
deep a discharge. The cutoff voltage can
also be set manually.
Additionally, the End Point Adjustment
capability of these ESCs allows full throttle
stick travel to correspond proportionately
to motor speed. Previously many ESCs
gave full throttle at partial stick travel. The
Super 30 and Super 20 are currently
shipping.
