Replacement modelSPORT Video
Magazine edition MS0602 (volume 6,
number 2) from modelSPORT Video
Magazine, Box 12557, Jacksonville
NC 28546; Tel: (910) 938-3371; Web
site: www.modelsport.com.
A glitch in the duplication process
of the MS0602 edition—the most
recent of the 22-issue quarterly
video/DVD series—resulted in a
foreign movie-looking effect: the mouth
moves and then the sound follows!
Despite its best efforts,
modelSPORT’s initial VHS release of
the two-hour MS0602 edition
contained a glitch near the 40-minute
mark that left audio and video out of
sync. According to Executive Producer
John Beech, the resulting effect was
referred to by one customer as
“Bizarre ... like a foreign film dub!”
After asking the 437 modelSPORT
dealers to pull the defective dubs off
the shelf, modelSPORT’s next step
was to send out replacements. The
company thinks it got them all, but any
customers with defective MS0602s
(which are easily recognizable by the
obvious out-of-sync audio/video) can
return them for a free exchange where
they purchased it.
Also, any customer who prefers to
upgrade to a DVD can return the
videotape directly to modelSPORT
(along with $5) for a prompt
replacement via first-class mail. The
DVD is $11.99, and the VHS tape is
$7.99. Please add $3.95 S&H.
ModelSPORT has taken steps to
keep this from happening again and
apologizes for the inconvenience.
