T-Rex 450 Pro V2 3GX Super Combo @ $599.99 + S&H from Align Taiwan; email: [email protected]; website: www.align.com.tw.
Align Taiwan is proud to announce its newest release with the T-Rex 450 Pro V2 Flybarless 3GX Combo kit.
With an enhanced pirouetting compensating routine and incorporating the new generation 3GX flybarless system, this helicopter is optimized for stability, enabling the pilot to have the controlled feel of the flybarred counterpart.
Enhancements and improvements include a newly improved low wind-resistant specialized flybarless rotor-head assembly, improved side-frame design with a dedicated 3GX mounting location, a new MX series high-efficiency brushless motor with heat-sink style casing and built-in cooling fan, and a new aerodynamic canopy with a paint scheme resembling the T-Rex 600E Pro.
Currently the smallest and lightest multifunction flybarless system on the market, the 3GX can be set up in minutes through a simple process. With the support of Bluetooth technology, it has a library of preconfigured settings specifically available for the T-Rex series of helicopters, and includes three levels of flight mode and custom parameters to allow pilots to fine-tune a number of swashplate and rudder settings.
The Super Combo includes the T-Rex 450 Pro 3GX kit, the 3GX Flybarless System and 325D 3G Carbon Blades; a six-channel (or more) helicopter system transmitter, and a six-channel (or more) receiver are required (sold separately).
There are four Align Taiwan distributors in North America; products are sold through hobby shops nationwide.
eRC 45A Brushless Programmable ESC with SBEC @ $39.99 + S&H from Hobby Lobby International, 5614 Franklin Pike Cir., Brentwood TN 37027; Tel.: (866) 512-1444; website: www.hobby-lobby.com.
Economically priced with programming versatility, Hobby Lobby’s eRC line of ESCs is an excellent choice for the modeler looking for quality with value.
The new eRC 45A Brushless Programmable ESC is a 30 x 56 x 11mm, 58-gram controller with a voltage adjustable (5, 5.5, or 6-volt) 5A switch-mode battery eliminator circuit (SBEC). Many of its functions can be programmed with the transmitter throttle stick more quickly and easily than with the optional eRC electronic programmer, although either may be used.
Programming functions include soft-, mid-, or hard-braking on/off, battery type (LiPo, LiFe, NiCd, or NiMh); low, medium, or high battery cutoff; motor timing (2°, 8°, 15°, 22°, or 30°); governor mode for helicopters; forward and reverse motor rotation; soft acceleration (low, medium, or high); and voltage cutoff (reduce power or cut power).
The 45A ESC requires quality connectors to connect to the motor, and the pilot’s choice of battery connector.
All Hobby Lobby eRC speed controllers come with a one-year warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
Reichard Magic 2.0m ARF ALES-LMR-F5J Competition E-Glider @ $279.95 + S&H from Hobby Club, Box 6004, San Clemente CA 92674; Tel.: (949) 425-1362; website: www.hobby-club.com.
Hobby Club is proud to announce its newest electric-powered glider: the Reichard Magic 2.0 ARF.
Intended for ALES (Altitude Limited Electric Sailplane), LMR (Limited Motor Run), or F5J competition, the Magic 2.0m ARF is made by CNC technology, with carbon fuselage, pod, and tailboom, and a foam core, balsa-sheathed, two-piece wing.
With premade servo trays, the glider also features a fiberglass canopy, prehinged ailerons, Oracover on the wings, and balsa tail parts. The covering is tight, with all hand-sealed seams.
The rudder and stabilizer are made with a single piece of balsa wood lightened with holes. All moving portions are spring loaded and a Kevlar single string is used to pull.
All of the necessary hardware for the model is included as well. Rudder, elevator, ailerons, flaps, and motor are the RC functions.
3-Axis G-Force Microsensor @ $26.99–$63.99 + S&H from Eagle Tree Systems, 4957 Lakemont Blvd. S.E., Suite C-4 PMB 235, Bellevue WA 98006; Tel.: (425) 614-0450; website: www.eagletreesystems.com
Do you know how many Gs were pulled in your last RC model maneuver? Now you can find out! Eagle Tree Systems is pleased to offer the world’s first stand-alone G-Force meter.
Factory calibrated and able to measure Gs in the X, Y, and Z axes during flight, these low-cost sensors also measure the maximum accounted forces on each axis and display the information on a built-in segment LED.
Two models are available: the low G sensor measures up to 8 G on the three axes; the high G sensor measures up to 40 G in the X and Y axes, and 8 G in the Z axis. Resolution is approximately 0.05 G in each axis.
No user calibration is necessary; both sensors are pre-calibrated. In standard use, simply plug the sensors into an open receiver channel or small 3- to 6-volt battery, and fly. When the flight is done, the maximum Gs recorded will be displayed on the LED.
Not only are the G-Force sensors easy to use, they are small— weighing only 4 grams—with dimensions of 1.1 x 0.62 x 0.4, and can be used with the pilot’s choice of firmware and/or microcontroller.
