DJI Spreading Wings S1000 @ $3,939.99-$6,350.99 + S&H from Atlanta Hobby, 6110 Parkway North Dr., Cumming GA 30040; Tel.: (678) 513-4450; website: www.atlantahobby.com
Atlanta Hobby is proud to release the DJI Spreading Wings S1000 octocopter. Designed for high-level professional aerial photography and cinematography, the S1000, combined with a flight controller such as the A2, weighs approximately 8.8 pounds with a maximum takeoff weight of 22 pounds, making for a stable, heavy-lift camera platform and easily carrying equipment as heavy as a Canon 5D Mark 3.
The S1000’s frame arms and retractable landing gear are made from carbon fiber. The eight frame arms fold completely down, and the folding propellers can be tucked away for easy transportation. To fly, simply lift up the frame arms, lock them in place, and power up the system.
The platform supports all Zenmuse Z15 gimbal systems. The gimbal is mounted low on the frame on a specially designed bracket. The battery system is also mounted to this bracket, with dampers placed between the bracket and frame.
Available from Atlanta Hobby in several combination packages, the S1000 has 40-amp ESCs built into each frame arm to be combined with the included 4114 pro motors and high-performance 1552 folding propellers.
9 Blade Fan Rotor for EVFs @ $472 + S&H from BVM; 3481 St. Rd. 419, Winter Springs FL 32708; Tel.: (407) 327-6333; website: www.bvmjets.com
For 5% more thrust and 50% less sound, the curvy 9 Blade Fan Rotor for electric VioFans (EVF) is particularly effective when installed in a challenging inlet duct system. Bob Violett Models (BVM) test and evaluation staff have flight-tested the fan rotor in all of its current EVF-powered jets. The notable performance gain and sound reduction have been documented.
Able to be retrofitted to all of the in-the-field EVF units, the 9 Blade Fan Rotor is now standard on EVF 12s and 14s units. EVF ~2~ 10s units will retain the 7 Blade Fan Rotor as standard.
BVM suggests that EVF Sabre 63-inch jet owners with EVF 10s units might upgrade to the 9 Blade Fan Rotor for a performance gain that is particularly noticeable in the long and narrow Sabre inlet. Static thrust increases by 1.5 pounds and the flight sound and performance are impressive.
Cost of the 9 Blade Fan Rotor includes the upgrade and a BVM test run. Call Bob Violett Models to schedule an upgrade.

Based on the successful FORZA 450, JR Americas is proud to introduce the new FORZA 450 EX, designed for 6S power systems.
Complete with a prepainted canopy, matching boom cover, and main rotor blades, the FORZA 450 EX also includes a rear body faring. The pilot can choose whether or not to fly with it. Many of the features were taken from and are compatible with the original FORZA 450 design, making it economical to maintain, including the simple design of the tail control lever, body catch positions, bearing blocks (with integrated servo mounts), and the rotor head.
Rigid and lightweight carbon-fiber frames give it a clean look. Carbon-fiber main rotor blades are 32mm longer than the FORZA 450, while the low-profile skids are 14mm lower than those on the FORZA 450.
The 670mm long FORZA 450 EX is belt-driven with 120° CCPM and has a main rotor diameter of 795mm and tail rotor diameter of 165.5mm.
