RADIO CONTROL COMBAT RECEIVED LETTER Wichita Kansas Ed Ross full questions about building 1A2-scale Curtiss P-40 704 Scale RC Combat event Ed asked some very good questions may interest assembling Scale non-Scale RC Combat fighters first question about engine Ive used 05 Max engines long time love However Id rather have ball bearings Considering Im interested reliability durability maximum performance what engine would recommend Let lay little RC engines general philosophy before answer question club have fliers swear certain engines other fliers swear same engines have three identical engines just run same Its due fuel tank height similar problem because three engines identical engine mounts can swap between Combat rounds opinion reliability maximum performance mutually exclusive work well particular engine What engines see flying 704 Numerically popular engine OS Max mentioned sport engines have some serious high-powered competition increasing numbers MVVS 15s RJL Conquest 15s taking skies What size fuel tank should fuse long engine run can 1 expect tank size depends couple things options limited whats available two- four-ounce tanks offered commercially least Im aware see tank will fit Warhawks cowl well-broken-in OS Max two-ounce tank can last through full sevenminute 704 Combat round remember throttle back occasionally dont need full power Remember Its usable fuel tank counts careful consider full usage plan tank placement Sometimes design just works against Heinkel He113 will drain half two-ounce tank shoehorned before quits Choosing higher-performance engine running new engine needs drool cool could require larger four-ounce tank two-ounce tank too small four-ounce tank too big consider making 3- 34-ounce 100 milliliter tank bottle scrounged local
