Continental 5x280 Gates Truflex #0 150 #0140 1 install fan shroud both halves flanged right side frame can done bending left rear flanged first front Thus installed make sure clear fan C-clamp place Now center flange drill #43 hole through frame tap 4x40 Install 4x40 Allen cap screw washer shroud now can removed easily flying field vertical lip two shrouds near front can have slot cut retain belt use slot should angled ward fit belt snuggly alignment clutch clutch belt shaft very important should square turn perfectly free Should clutch shaft bearing loose its block little Zap will cure Make sure bearing flush its retaining block before using Zap Rotor Shaft Nylon Gear main rotor shaft installed should have end play Install shaft bearing blocks bolts loose Install nylon gears sure thin washer spacer place above nylon gear Some kits have twouse both Tighten bolt gear pull shaft up tight tighten set screw swash-plate ball output shaft should now free no end play Use piece cigarette paper gauge adjust shaft fore aft until paper tight making sure gear parallel frame opening Now tighten bearing Wall Schoonard blocks Put nuts same side frame will make adjustments later much easier Rotor Head Make sure fly-bar stabilizer bar 90 degrees see saw rotor-head block small set screw retains traverse shaft Re move set screw coat blue Locktite replace Screw enough retain traverse shaft sliding back forth shaft should very free side plates Drill fly-bar pad dles 90 degrees fly-bar tap 4x40 set screw set screw should /s inner side fly-bar un der side Slide fly-bar through head put brass washer side large side Place retainer collar side control arm other Replace control arm set screw bolt like ones blade holders Cut length suit will now take larger Allen wrench can tightened much better Screw paddles holding vertical line up perfectly Tighten 4-40 set screws Balance fly-bar placing rotor head output shaft sliding bar back forth until balance achieved Tighten retaining collar control arm Control arm should parallel paddle center line Install covered balanced blades blade should have identical centers gravity Add tracking foil make sure blades parallel seesaw no lead no lag steel straight-edge held onto seesaw side plates will help adjustment Blades should ab solutely parallel other Now tighten bolts blade mountsones blade live area near sea level 2-degree pitch collector should 35 mm Swash-Plate With servos neutral radio transmitter trims neutral swash-plate should adjusted 90 degrees output shaft way around Adjust servo-throw swash-plate will tilt least 10 mm up down right left Now adjust con trol rod fly-bar fly-bar control lever swash-plate paddles horizontal Tail Rotor tail rotor turning same speed motor some special care will need taken area tail rotor blades should have 1/32 ply wood reinforcement epoxied onto backside holder area Cover paint blades balance carefully pitch-control arm should slide very easily through tail-rotor shaft should also rotate freely pitch-angle plate open up slot should however free burrs bending front edge up rear down pitch-angle plate will let rod move end end servo should give least 90 per cent travel slot Kavan blade-balance collar should placed side tail-rotor shaft next needle bearings transfer wear point outside can lubri cated flight getting belt oily small washer should placed side nylon pitch plate keep heating up melting Set tailrotor blade 0 degrees pitch tailrotor servo should return exact center after command use nyrod tailrotor pushrod Tail Rotor Belt Elongate two lower tail-boom bolt holes frame tail boom will slide easily belt tension should checked frequently Tighten enough will slip under moderate pressure vertical horizontal fins should installed per plans little Zap put clamps keep rotating flight Heli-Baby should balance slightly nose heavy fuel should lift-off half throttle about 9000 rpm tail rotor time reset tracking same should hover half stick less fly way
