Van Camp 1914-2009

Van S. Camp, beloved husband, father, and high-spirited patriarch, passed away August 9, 2009, at age 95.

Van was a longtime member of the Barnstormers R/C club near Portland, Oregon, where he spent many hours enjoying his love of flying, as well as creating a legacy of fond memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Van had been an AMA member since 1936.

Van accomplished much and had several careers in his long life, but one that left its mark on the model airplane community was as the founder and owner of Air King Manufacturing many years ago. Air King made die-cut model airplane kits that some of us can remember building and playing with when we were much younger.

The Barnstormers club has rededicated its field to honor Van's memory.

Van was a great friend and mentor and will be greatly missed by his wonderful family and his many, many friends.
