Gil Morris-designed Kerswap
Alan Abriss ([email protected]) from Rego Park, New York, sent this photo of himself and his Kerswap .020 Replica model taken at the Skyscrapers' field in Wawayanda, New York. The Kerswap was designed by Gil Morris when he was 17 years old. Alan states that it is probably the best-flying model in the collection and noted that it "flew right off the board and has never needed any adjustments."
"At the 2012 FF Nats this model was in first place for most of the day, until Bob Hanford beat me in the flyoff round," Alan wrote. "During two of the Kerswap's three max flights, Gil Morris was standing next to me watching me fly his design. I did not realize Gil was watching until he came up behind me to comment on what a good-flying model I had. I told him it was all his doing. When I brought the model back to the flightline, I had Gil sign the sub-rudder. Perhaps at this year's Nats I'll beat Bobby Hanford."
Using a Canon PowerShot SD1100 with a 6mm focal length, the image was shot with an f-stop of f/8 at 1/100 second and an ISO of 100.
