Joe Vermillion (uawflyer@gmail.com) submitted this photo that he took during one of the biggest RC events that is held each year: Joe Nall Week. Joe wrote: “On May 16, 2014, in Woodruff, South Carolina, a special event was in full swing at Triple Tree Aerodrome. The 32nd annual Joe Nall Week event is considered to be the granddaddy of all RC events by many enthusiasts. I for one do not disagree! “During the noontime demo, Andrew Jesky debuted his 93-inch Laser 230z. This fantastic design is powered by a Hacker Q80-8M motor and Castle Creations Edge 160 ESC. Andrew is running Thunder Power 12S 5,000 mAh LiPo battery flight packs and Futaba S9157 high-torque digital servos. “One of the unique features of this airframe was the Smoke-EL wingtip electric smoke system that Andrew and Gunter Zielke installed on the field in the three hours leading up to the demo. This system was designed by Gunter and is completely electric. Very impressive!” Joe used a Canon EOS 7D with a focal length of 110mm and spot metering. Settings included an ISO of 100 and an f-stop of f/7.1 at 1/800 second.[dingbat] Email your high-resolution “Viewfinder” photo and a short note telling the airplane or helicopter story to jays@modelaircraft.org.
